The Chiefs looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Jordan Jefferson at No. 159 regardless, 25 picks early. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Brownlee Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Value with a capital V on Adisa Isaac in the Round 2 slot, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Dominick Puni at pick No. 95 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Somehow Jarvis Brownlee Jr. was still sitting there in No. 132, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Jordan Jefferson in the 159th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Tahj Washington at the 173rd overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Donovan Jennings is a better player than No. 252 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
