The rest of the league will want that one back. Anthony Hill Jr. tumbling to the Chiefs in slot 110 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
They are betting Prysock proves the room right and everyone else wrong. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 31 they get a rangy last line of defense at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Peter Woods at the 43rd pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Blake Miller in pick No. 74 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They let Keionte Scott come to them and pounced at the Round 3 slot. A minor itch, scratched.
No drama and no debate, Bryce Lance went about where he belonged in No. 91. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Somehow Anthony Hill Jr. was still sitting there in slot 110, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. The roster fit checks out.
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at the 130th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Eli Raridon at Round 5, Pick 8 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ephesians Prysock this early at slot 151. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
A conviction pick on Domani Jackson at pick No. 169 that the board grades a round light. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Drew Allar in No. 176, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They robbed the room for Kevin Coleman Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Kaden Wetjen in the 220th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kaelon Black at Round 7, Pick 10 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
They will replay Tanner Koziol at pick 238 for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
