The rest of the league will want that one back. Romello Height tumbling to the Chiefs in the 109th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

The cost of the Jackson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.9 · Pick 9 · Carnell Tate · WR · rank 12
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R1.29 · Pick 29 · Kayden McDonald · DT · rank 20
In the 29th pick they get a run-stuffing presence up front at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.8 · Pick 40 · Dillon Thieneman · S · rank 35
Fair-plus on Dillon Thieneman, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R3.28 · Pick 92 · Eli Stowers · TE · rank 53
Eli Stowers at Round 3, Pick 28 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.9 · Pick 109 · Romello Height · DE-EDGE · rank 65
Steal is underselling it; Romello Height at No. 109 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Domonique Orange · DT · rank 76
The board fumbled Domonique Orange all the way to pick 112, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.8 · Pick 148 · Charles Demmings · CB · rank 149
No edge and no loss on Charles Demmings in pick No. 148; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
R5.12 · Pick 152 · Domani Jackson · CB · rank 176
A wild overpay on Domani Jackson in slot 152, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
R5.29 · Pick 169 · Ephesians Prysock · CB · rank 190
Ephesians Prysock at No. 169 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R5.36 · Pick 176 · Kevin Coleman Jr. · WR · rank 163
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kevin Coleman Jr. at the 176th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R6.29 · Pick 210 · Kaden Wetjen · WR · rank 223
Kaden Wetjen at the Round 6 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.16 · Pick 232 · Jadon Canady · CB · rank 214
Jadon Canady at slot 232 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
R7.35 · Pick 251 · John Michael Gyllenborg · TE · rank 228
Somehow John Michael Gyllenborg was still sitting there in pick No. 251, and they pounced on premier tight end value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
