The Packers' one glaring miss is edge rusher, a need they left exactly as they found it. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Every board in the league had Puni lower, and that gap is the story.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
They went early on Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in the 25th overall pick, and the value did not follow. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kamren Kinchens in No. 41. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They paid sticker price for Edgerrin Cooper in slot 57, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A straight-up fair deal on McKinnley Jackson at pick 88, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They liked Dominick Puni enough to skip the value, taking him in the 91st pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, MarShawn Lloyd at the Round 4 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Kris Abrams-Draine at Round 4, Pick 35 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
