The Vikings' one glaring miss is safety, a need they left exactly as they found it.
Reaching for Logue left real value on the table behind him. That Rosemy-Jacksaint pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 11 they get a disruptor off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
J.J. McCarthy in pick No. 42 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
By-the-book stuff, Ray Davis at the Round 4 slot squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Good price on Jarrian Jones in pick 130, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
No edge and no loss on Javion Cohen in Round 5, Pick 12; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint is a better player than the 160th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
LaDarius Henderson at No. 166 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They took Trey Knox at par in the 179th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Zion Logue well ahead of where he belonged. The roster fit checks out.
