The Vikings spent the pick that matters most on J.J. McCarthy, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

McCarthy has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Spending an early pick on cornerback with safety and interior defensive lineman open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
