The Javon Baker pick is the one that will follow the Vikings into the fall. They took him 63 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That Jones pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Vikings indulged a want in Melton while a need in safety and interior defensive lineman stayed open.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
