After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Vikings committed. J.J. McCarthy is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Ali reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They banked enough surplus on McCaffrey to cover a lot of smaller sins.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 5th overall pick they get a long-term answer under center, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
