Landing Taaffe that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.
They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
This one needs a full-page explanation: Blake Miller in the 27th overall pick, miles early. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No drama and no debate, Antonio Williams went about where he belonged in the 58th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Value said wait; Vincent Anthony Jr. in slot 127 says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They took Eli Raridon at par in pick 133, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
Will Lee III is a better player than pick No. 138 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Michael Taaffe in No. 139 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
