The Dolphins looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Dametrious Crownover at slot 75 regardless, 69 picks early.
However the rest shakes out, Perkins Jr. at that price is a win they earned. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 8 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 11th pick they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
In the Round 1 slot they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
Gabe Jacas at the 43rd overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached into another round for Dametrious Crownover, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kamari Ramsey at Round 3, Pick 23 is the proof. A minor itch, scratched.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Oscar Delp. The roster fit checks out.
Sam Hecht in pick No. 94 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A big swing on Zxavian Harris at pick 130, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Harold Perkins Jr. at Round 5, Pick 11 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
They will replay Sawyer Robertson at the 227th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A reach on Desmond Reid in the Round 7 slot; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
