Nobody had Alex Harkey this high, and it is not close. The Falcons reached 89 spots to get him at Round 7, Pick 15. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Corleone. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Germie Bernard at the 48th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board fumbled Keionte Scott all the way to pick 79, and they scooped it up. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They robbed the room for Dontay Corleone here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A quiet steal in slot 215: Quintayvious Hutchins for less than the market said. It fills a real need, too.
Alex Harkey in Round 7, Pick 15 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
