The Rams went off the board in a big way for Eric Gentry, 101 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On value alone, Bentley makes the weekend a net positive.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Christen Miller at the Round 2 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jude Bowry at pick No. 93 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Dallen Bentley at slot 207 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No edge and no loss on Andre Fuller in No. 232; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
They reached into another round for Eric Gentry, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They reached a country mile for Haynes King at pick 252, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
