There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Titans started one anyway for Jadon Canady, 30 picks ahead of schedule. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Johnson steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Jeremiyah Love at par in pick 4, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid sticker price for R Mason Thomas in Round 2, Pick 3, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Nothing to complain about; Jake Golday went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Brenen Thompson in No. 101. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A quiet steal in slot 142: Parker Brailsford for less than the market said. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Trey Zuhn III at the 144th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jadon Canady at the 184th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Aaron Graves in pick 194 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Dalton Johnson at pick No. 225 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
