Call it larceny. Andru Phillips sat on the board until the 186th pick, and the Dolphins did not need to be asked twice.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 21 they get a difference-maker at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Ja'Tavion Sanders is a better player than Round 3, Pick 1 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
Blake Fisher at the 95th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
