New England Patriots

The Patriots turned the phones into found money: B.

by bbb · 2025 NFL Draft · 9 picks · 4 steals · 1 reaches
Value B
Need B+
Trades A+
Future D

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Patriots took Barryn Sorrell a full 77 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

That Tuten pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.4 · Pick 4 · Mason Graham · DT · rank 4
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the defensive front. The biggest hole, addressed.
R1.23 · Pick 23 · Tyler Warren · TE · rank 16
Tyler Warren at the 23rd overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R2.6 · Pick 38 · Cameron Williams · OT · rank 38
Cameron Williams at pick No. 38 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Maxwell Hairston · CB · rank 73
By-the-book stuff, Maxwell Hairston at slot 69 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R4.4 · Pick 106 · Isaiah Bond · WR · rank 76
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 106 is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.6 · Pick 144 · Emery Jones Jr. · OT · rank 125
Emery Jones Jr. at the 144th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.1 · Pick 217 · Bhayshul Tuten · RB · rank 151
Circle this one: Bhayshul Tuten at No. 217 is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
R7.4 · Pick 220 · Alijah Huzzie · CB · rank 201
The board fumbled Alijah Huzzie all the way to the 220th overall pick, and they scooped it up. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
R7.22 · Pick 238 · Barryn Sorrell · LB-EDGE · rank 315
This one needs a full-page explanation: Barryn Sorrell in the 238th pick, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
