The rest of the league will want that one back. TreVeyon Henderson tumbling to the Chiefs in Round 4, Pick 31 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Spending an early pick on safety with wide receiver, tight end and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Job largely done: running back settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a downhill hitter at safety, and a steal at that.
Jihaad Campbell at the 64th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They barely believed it either: Kaleb Johnson still on the board at slot 66. The roster fit checks out.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the Round 3 slot on Xavier Watts with wide receiver, tight end and other spots unsolved.
TreVeyon Henderson at the 132nd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
