The rest of the league will want that one back. Kiran Amegadjie tumbling to the Commanders in pick 144 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st pick they get a disruptor off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Nice patience on Johnny Wilson, who had no business lasting to Round 2, Pick 3. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
By-the-book stuff, Carson Beck at slot 36 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Xavier Legette in pick No. 39 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Chris Braswell at No. 70 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A tidy bit of business in the 71st overall pick, where Cooper DeJean graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No drama and no debate, D.J. James went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Circle this one: Graham Barton at pick 120 is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Oronde Gadsden II in pick No. 185 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
