The Cowboys spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Ted Hurst, the No. 89 name on the board, in Round 4, Pick 29. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. The Whittington pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick-by-Pick
Anthony Hill Jr. in the 57th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They barely believed it either: Michael Taaffe still on the board at pick 92. A minor itch, scratched.
A quiet steal in pick No. 95: Connor Lew for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A slide stopped in the Round 4 slot, with Treydan Stukes worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Ted Hurst at slot 129 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They robbed the room for Oscar Delp here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Aamil Wagner at Round 5, Pick 37 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board had cheaper options than Noah Whittington at No. 218, and it noticed. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
No edge and no loss on Fa'alili Fa'amoe in slot 241; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
