Washington Commanders

No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Commanders.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The Commanders took J. Michael Sturdivant at the Round 5 slot, roughly 132 spots before his name belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Landing Durant that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.7 · Pick 7 · Jeremiyah Love · RB · rank 2
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jeremiyah Love in the Round 1 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Hezekiah Masses · CB · rank 132
A real head-scratcher, Hezekiah Masses in No. 71 is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.7 · Pick 147 · J. Michael Sturdivant · WR · rank 279
They left a pile of value on the table to take J. Michael Sturdivant this early at pick 147. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.6 · Pick 187 · Zane Durant · DT · rank 176
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 187, where Zane Durant graded well above the range. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R7.38 · Pick 254 · Josh Moten · CB · rank 263
Josh Moten at slot 254 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
