You can hear the double-takes from here. The Cowboys took Jaylan Ford at pick 146, roughly 39 spots before his name belonged. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The Pritchett value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick-by-Pick
Good price on Amarius Mims in slot 24, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid up for Byron Murphy II at the Round 2 slot when waiting would have done the job. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Ja'Tavion Sanders at the 40th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A reach on Zach Frazier in the 56th overall pick; the board had better options right there. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

By-the-book stuff, Tykee Smith at pick No. 100 squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Tommy Eichenberg in the 102nd overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid a round early for Javon Foster in Round 4, Pick 24, more than the board wanted. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They took Kris Abrams-Draine at par in the 127th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A real head-scratcher, Edefuan Ulofoshio in the Round 5 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No edge and no loss on Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in the 143rd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
