This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Nathaniel Watson, the No. 207 name on the board, stolen at slot 233.

They are betting Bortolini proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 25
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.27 · Pick 59 · T'Vondre Sweat · DT · rank 64
No drama and no debate, T'Vondre Sweat went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · Jalen McMillan · WR · rank 107
Jalen McMillan at slot 87 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Blake Corum · RB · rank 78
Blake Corum slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the running back. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Tanor Bortolini · C · rank 154
Tanor Bortolini at pick No. 127 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.38 · Pick 174 · Justin Eboigbe · DL-EDGE · rank 193
Justin Eboigbe at Round 5, Pick 38 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 215
They paid sticker price for Jaylan Ford in No. 216, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R7.13 · Pick 233 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 207
Taking Nathaniel Watson in pick 233 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R7.18 · Pick 238 · Matthew Jones · OG · rank 259
A real head-scratcher, Matthew Jones in the 238th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.24 · Pick 244 · Tarheeb Still · CB · rank 238
Nothing to complain about; Tarheeb Still went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
