Nobody else had Tanor Bortolini anywhere near the Round 5 slot. The Dolphins did, by 26 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
Xavier Worthy at pick 55 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Kiran Amegadjie went about where he belonged in the 64th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They took Calen Bullock at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Mahogany at pick No. 95 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
A reach on McKinnley Jackson in the 113th pick; the board had better options right there. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Mohamed Kamara in slot 130 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A premium they did not need to pay, Javion Cohen a notch or two before his time. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They reached into another round for Tanor Bortolini, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
