Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Cowboys spent the 233rd pick on Decamerion Richardson, a name most had 85 spots down the list.
Landing Eichenberg that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

In No. 24 they get a long-term starter on the line at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zach Frazier. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Leonard Taylor III at the Round 3 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A need, and now a little less of one.
Taking Tommy Eichenberg in the 174th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Gabe Hall at slot 216 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
