The Cowboys fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Gerry Bohanon at the 247th overall pick is 187 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

The Barton steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.

A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 27
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Derrick Harmon · DT · rank 32
Derrick Harmon at No. 44 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R2.17 · Pick 49 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 60
They liked TreVeyon Henderson enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 2 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.12 · Pick 76 · Tyleik Williams · DT · rank 53
Circle this one: Tyleik Williams at slot 76 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.19 · Pick 83 · Charles Grant · OT · rank 87
They paid sticker price for Charles Grant in pick 83, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.22 · Pick 86 · Savion Williams · WR · rank 107
Savion Williams at the 86th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.25 · Pick 89 · Quinshon Judkins · RB · rank 72
They read the board right and Quinshon Judkins was the payoff at the Round 3 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.20 · Pick 121 · Donovan Smith · QB · rank 205
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Donovan Smith. It fills a real need, too.
R5.27 · Pick 164 · Chris Paul Jr. · LB · rank 112
Chris Paul Jr. in No. 164 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.31 · Pick 168 · Lathan Ransom · S · rank 101
A safety of that caliber at slot 168 is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R5.33 · Pick 170 · Cam Skattebo · RB · rank 109
Cam Skattebo in pick No. 170 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.36 · Pick 173 · Willie Lampkin · OG · rank 165
Willie Lampkin slipping to Round 5, Pick 36 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.11 · Pick 186 · Connor Colby · OG · rank 166
They robbed the room for Connor Colby here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Lander Barton · LB · rank 123
Lander Barton in pick 209 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R7.2 · Pick 218 · Raheim Sanders · RB · rank 142
Raheim Sanders at slot 218 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
R7.31 · Pick 247 · Gerry Bohanon · QB · rank 434
Gerry Bohanon in No. 247 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
