Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Patriots, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.
Everything downstream of Drake Maye depends on Drake Maye, and the building knows it. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Morgan pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
The Holker pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd pick they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Terrion Arnold in Round 2, Pick 2. A minor itch, scratched.
Jordan Morgan in pick 54 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board fumbled Jalen McMillan all the way to the Round 4 slot, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Dallin Holker at slot 136 is a conviction pick that outran the value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Austin Stogner at No. 228 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
By-the-book stuff, Jha'Quan Jackson at pick No. 229 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
