The Commanders looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Ben Sinnott at the 102nd overall pick regardless, 36 picks early.
Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They banked enough surplus on Sainristil to cover a lot of smaller sins. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 2 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Chop Robinson in pick No. 36 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Adisa Isaac at slot 40 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A wild overpay on Michael Pratt in Round 3, Pick 3, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A slide stopped in No. 100, with Mike Sainristil worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Ben Sinnott in the 102nd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They let Cole Bishop come to them and pounced at slot 141. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jawhar Jordan at the 181st pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Tatum Bethune this early at pick 223. It adds depth where they could use a little.
