The Patriots did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Ozzy Trapilo fell into Round 7, Pick 1.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The veteran additions, Ja'Tavion Sanders chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.
