Somebody took the Lions to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
Sinnott has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
If Laiatu Latu and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 18 they get a problem off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Xavier Legette in No. 38 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nothing to complain about; Kingsley Suamataia went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had Dadrion Taylor-Demerson higher than the 98th overall pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Ben Sinnott in the Round 4 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Dwight McGlothern at Round 5, Pick 28 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Joe Milton III. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Nathaniel Watson in the 205th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good price on Jalen Sundell in the Round 7 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
