They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Power Echols, 38 picks early at the Round 7 slot.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.
However the rest shakes out, Moore at that price is a win they earned. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick-by-Pick
Trevor Etienne at pick No. 74 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Fair-plus on Jacobee Bryant, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Value with a capital V on Malachi Moore in slot 117, a genuine coup. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Jack Kiser at No. 126 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Fentrell Cypress II in the Round 5 slot, miles early. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
By-the-book stuff, Billy Bowman Jr. at pick 158 squarely in line with his ranking. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
No edge and no loss on Shawn Murphy in slot 190; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Power Echols at Round 7, Pick 30 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
