The Commanders spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Allen pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. They are betting Fisher proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
