There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Commanders started one anyway for Spencer Rattler, 75 picks ahead of schedule. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Landing Rice that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 5 they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Guyton in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Spencer Rattler at pick No. 37 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Darius Robinson at the 40th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
Devontez Walker at slot 67 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kingsley Suamataia slipping to No. 78 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Khyree Jackson in pick 100 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
You do not let a wide receiver like Brenden Rice reach No. 139 and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Justin Eboigbe in the 152nd pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Sam Hartman at Round 7, Pick 2 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
