The search is over. The Commanders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
Rosengarten has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.
The Fiske pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

In Round 1, Pick 3 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Tyler Guyton in pick 36 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Braden Fiske at slot 67. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nice patience on Ricky Pearsall, who had no business lasting to pick No. 68. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Roger Rosengarten. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Chau Smith-Wade at the Round 5 slot is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Kalen King at No. 139 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
