There is a lot to like until you notice wide receiver is still a hole. The Cowboys never got to the one that mattered most. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
They are betting Powers-Johnson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get an anchor for the offensive line, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nothing to complain about; Junior Colson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A straight-up fair deal on Dominick Puni at the 87th pick, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
