Dallas Cowboys

A sensible, unshowy class lands the Cowboys a B.

For all the boxes ticked, the Cowboys skipped the loudest one: wide receiver is exactly as bare as it was.

They will need Wingo to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The back end got a real overhaul.

Their trades came out a wash either way.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Terrion Arnold · CB · rank 18
In pick 24 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Christian Haynes · OG · rank 65
Christian Haynes at the 64th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · Trey Benson · RB · rank 87
No edge and no loss on Trey Benson in slot 87; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.32 · Pick 95 · Mekhi Wingo · DT · rank 108
The board had cheaper options than Mekhi Wingo at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
