The Dolphins put a flag in the ground for Garret Greenfield, 23 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get an island corner at fair value. More want than need.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Haynes at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Cooper Beebe at the 66th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They reached into another round for Khristian Boyd, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Joe Milton III at pick 183 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Value said wait; Garret Greenfield in slot 197 says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They went early on KT Leveston in slot 226, and the value did not follow. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
No drama and no debate, Jordan Whittington went about where he belonged in the 241st pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
