The board owed the Dolphins one, and it paid up: Johnny Wilson, the No. 126 name on the board, sitting there at Round 5, Pick 22 like a gift left on the doorstep. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 27 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid sticker price for Christian Haynes in the 55th pick, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Zach Frazier in the 86th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board fumbled Cooper Beebe all the way to No. 90, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Somehow Johnny Wilson was still sitting there in pick 158, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Xavier Thomas at pick No. 162 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Dwight McGlothern in Round 6, Pick 9 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Logan Lee in the Round 6 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No drama and no debate, KT Leveston went about where he belonged in No. 238. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No edge and no loss on Bub Means in slot 241; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
