Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Patriots were there to profit. Ryan Fitzgerald, the No. 113 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 217th overall pick. Little to argue with here, and the A says so.
The Sanders pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Pick-by-Pick
In No. 20 they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kenneth Grant in pick 38. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Tyler Warren in the 45th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Omarion Hampton at the Round 3 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tate Ratledge in pick No. 77. It fills a real need, too.
TreVeyon Henderson at the 85th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They reached a country mile for Ozzy Trapilo at slot 104, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cody Simon at Round 5, Pick 6 is the proof. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
