The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The Allen pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
Logue has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They did well to land Bralen Trice in pick 42, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jackson Powers-Johnson in slot 66 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Cam Hart at pick No. 148 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They robbed the room for Braelon Allen here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Omar Speights at the 208th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Zion Logue well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
