The Dominic Zvada selection is the head-turner. The Broncos reached 100 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Getting McNeil-Warren where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Job largely done: linebacker settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick-by-Pick
They robbed the room for Anthony Hill Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jadarian Price in Round 3, Pick 6 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A tight end of that caliber at pick No. 73 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at No. 80 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A tidy bit of business in slot 120, where De'Zhaun Stribling graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
By-the-book stuff, Oscar Delp at the 125th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Chris McClellan at No. 154 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Dominic Zvada in pick 201 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
A reach on Fa'alili Fa'amoe in Round 7, Pick 20; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A conviction pick on Jack Kelly at the Round 7 slot that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Nick Barrett. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Luke Altmyer in pick No. 256 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Adam Randall at slot 257 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
