The Packers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and KT Leveston fell into No. 245.
The Williams reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get juice off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Edgerrin Cooper in pick 41 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Fair-plus on Javon Bullard, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Roger Rosengarten at pick No. 88 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They took MarShawn Lloyd at par in pick 91, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They will replay Brandon Coleman at the 126th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Ty'Ron Hopper in the 169th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Value said wait; Evan Williams in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
They went early on Jacob Monk in Round 6, Pick 44, and the value did not follow. It fills a real need, too.
Circle this one: KT Leveston at slot 245 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Daijahn Anthony in pick No. 255 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
