The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Carson Schwesinger, the 235th overall pick, roughly 97 picks past where he belonged.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 19 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value.
Somehow Derrick Harmon was still sitting there in Round 2, Pick 23, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Gunnar Helm in the 88th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
Luke Kandra in pick No. 120 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jake Majors in slot 125 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They did well to land Jaeden Roberts in No. 164, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They robbed the room for Devin Neal here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Sonny Styles at the 173rd overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Value with a capital V on Ricky White III in No. 210, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They barely believed it either: Carson Schwesinger still on the board at pick 235. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
