The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Mincey has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
That Jenkins pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 5 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid sticker price for Nate Wiggins in pick 37, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No drama and no debate, Brian Thomas Jr. went about where he belonged in pick No. 47. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board had Kris Jenkins higher than the Round 3 slot, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
A conviction pick on Tate Ratledge at Round 4, Pick 5 that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid up for Gerald Mincey at the 142nd pick when waiting would have done the job. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Tyler Batty slid further than he should have, and the 183rd overall pick is lovely value for the edge rusher. The roster fit checks out.
