For all the boxes ticked, the 49ers skipped the loudest one: wide receiver is exactly as bare as it was. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Fitzgerald at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
