The Trey Zuhn III selection is the head-turner. The Buccaneers reached 84 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.
The Stowers pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.
Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Value with a capital V on Arvell Reese in No. 15, a genuine coup. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Nothing to complain about; Caleb Banks went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They barely believed it either: Eli Stowers still on the board at the 77th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No edge and no loss on Bryce Lance in pick No. 116; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Value said wait; Trey Zuhn III in the 155th overall pick says they were not listening. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Matt Gulbin in the Round 6 slot. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They paid sticker price for Diego Pavia in the Round 7 slot, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
