The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Elijah Arroyo, taking him 431 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It bottoms out at a F.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left edge rusher open, and the grade is the bill.
Pick-by-Pick
They talked themselves into Thomas Fidone II at Round 3, Pick 27, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Elijah Arroyo in the 127th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Gee Scott Jr.. The roster fit checks out.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jake Johnson this early at the 202nd overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Sav'ell Smalls at slot 250 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
