The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Commanders spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Braswell falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. If Amegadjie pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 2nd overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 4 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A wild overpay on Kiran Amegadjie in pick 40, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kamari Lassiter in pick No. 67 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They robbed the room for Adonai Mitchell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Chris Braswell at the 100th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
