The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Riley Mahlman, the Round 5 slot, roughly 36 picks past where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The Hill pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback, running back and other spots. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a No. 1 receiver, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in slot 64, where Mitchell Evans graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
