They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Nathaniel Watson, 30 picks early at slot 210. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. The Ulofoshio value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 32 they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Good price on T'Vondre Sweat in Round 2, Pick 32, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They talked themselves into Darius Robinson at pick No. 95, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kamal Hadden at No. 133 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They jumped the gun on Kitan Oladapo, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They read the board right and Edefuan Ulofoshio was the payoff at the 172nd overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nathaniel Watson in No. 210 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
Chad Lindberg in the 250th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
