The war room fell hard for Riley Leonard, and it showed at No. 51: 84 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. For now it grades a C+, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.
The Mondon Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.
In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.
Pick-by-Pick
Josh Simmons in pick 19 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Riley Leonard at No. 51 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Smael Mondon Jr. in Round 3, Pick 19 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A real head-scratcher, Nazir Stackhouse in pick No. 120 is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Anthony Belton. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Davison Igbinosun at slot 195, value and slot in agreement. A minor itch, scratched.
