Everything else got attention, and interior defensive lineman got none. That is a strange way for the Giants to leave a draft.
The Coleman pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at fair value.
Keon Coleman slipping to the 39th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Good price on Tyler Guyton in pick No. 47, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 6, with Jonathon Brooks worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A tidy bit of business in the 107th overall pick, where Spencer Rattler graded well above the range. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 143 with a little surplus value in Dallin Holker. The roster fit checks out.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Curtis Jacobs in the Round 6 slot. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
